Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest ScholarshipChick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest Scholarship – Do you like calling ducks? Well, this scholarship is open to all high school seniors who can call ducks. Each contestant in this competition must use the four main different duck calls within 90 seconds in order to hail, feed, comeback, and attract ducks. Even though this may sound weird and unusual, the winner of this competition gets a $2,000 scholarship and 1st runner up obtains $1,000. This is an annual competition held in November and there is no entry fee to participate. But contestants must register through the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce. Battle of the Bands Scholarship – Do you have a band? Do you want to earn $1,000 for participating in a battle of the bands competition? This Battle of the Bands scholarship is for anyone between the ages of 13-25 and enjoys competing. To win this scholarship, a band must go through an application process and then the competition. The winner of the battle of the bands receives $1,000 and concert tickets for various artists throughout the year. The application deadline is April 12, 2013 and for more official rules and information go to dosomething.org and click battle of the bands. So far only 22 bands have sent in an application.
Tall Clubs International Student Scholarship – This annual scholarship is given through the Tall Clubs International and it awards students who are tall a $1,000 scholarship towards their education. Any student under the age of 21 can apply to this scholarship but, Women must be 5’10” or taller and men must be at least 6’2”. But, if you are not incredibly tall, and are extremely short, the Little People of America scholarship is open to you. In the Little People scholarship, if you are a legal dwarf (anyone under 4’10” is considered a dwarf), you can obtain money for your height. So whether you’re extremely short or extremely tall, you can get a small chunk of change for something you were born with.
