Looking Ahead to Robinson Sports: Dec. 5 and Beyond

Robinson winter athletics kicks into high gear this week, with busy sporting event schedules across the board.

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, the Robinson basketball teams will have their work cut out for them as they take on Langley, with all boys teams scheduled to play at Robinson and all girls teams scheduled to play at Langley. Boys and girls freshman teams will play at 4:30 PM respectively, along with boys and girls JV to play at 5:45 PM and boys and girls varsity to tip off at 7:30 PM.

Varsity wrestling matches up against McLean on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 6:00 PM. The event is set to take place at the McLean facility in what is otherwise a rather quiet day for Robinson athletics.

The following day, Thursday, Dec. 8, JV wrestling will compete in a multiple-school match at Thomas Jefferson, the event to commence at 6:00 PM. That same day, girls varsity basketball will go up against James Madison at Madison’s court, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM.

At Fairfax, on Friday, Dec. 9, Robinson wrestling will compete at the NOVA Classic, starting at 9:00 AM. Varsity wrestling will compete at North Hagerstown, in Maryland, at 12:00 PM and coed track will compete at Thomas Jefferson Middle School at 5:00 PM. Robinson swim and dive will kick off at 6:30 PM against Centreville at South Run Rec Center. Lastly, Robinson basketball will face off against Lake Braddock, and the boys JV, varsity, and girls varsity games are all at home; the remaining games are at Lake Braddock. The start times are as follows: boys freshman and JV at 4:30 PM, boys varsity and girls JV at 7:30 PM, girls freshman at 5:45 PM, and girls varsity at 6:00 PM.

Finally, on Saturday, Dec. 10, coed track participates in the Polar Bear Meet at Robinson, starting at 10:00 AM. At the same time, Robinson gymnastics competes at Oakton, and at 6:00 PM, swim and dive goes up against Woodson and West Potomac at Audrey Moore Rec Center.
