This past weekend the Robinson Varsity cheer team competed at Virginia Commonwealth University for a 6A state title. The Rams flew through the first round with a score of 227, seeing two of their competing teams eliminated. In the second round the cheerleaders performed their initial routine again and improved their score to 240.5, barely edging out Battlefield high school which had a score of 240. The Rams’ improved score earned them the title of 6A state runners up behind the Grassfield Grizzlies who finished with a score of 257. The competition also hosted the 5A finals, where the Briar Woods Falcons secured the 5A state title.
