Rams Start Strong in the District

With five minutes left in the third quarter of their district game against Centreville, the boys basketball team took the lead and never relinquished it.  With a strong defensive effort, the Rams (10-3, 1-0 in the Concorde district) were able to wrestle the lead from the Wildcats (4-8, 0-1) for the first time all night.

The Rams were led by senior guards Robert Pillow and Tristian Crenshaw who each had 14 points in the game.

On the defensive end the Rams employed a full-court pressure defense for most of the game.  The press created turnovers and led to easy baskets for the Rams.  Junior guard Nathan Hackett and junior forward Keegan Ruddy pressured the ball for a full 94 feet and were rewarded with 10 and six points respectively.

Hackett said the Rams look to build on the win and continue to improve as they move through district play.
