Looking Ahead to Robinson Sports, This Week and Beyond
November 21, 2016
Heading into Thanksgiving Break, Robinson athletics is in a bit of a lull. Most of the scheduled activity this week involves Robinson basketball, as tryouts occurred for both boys and girls on Nov. 7, 9, and 10. Nov. 11 was the final tryout date for those who advanced past the first cut. Official team selections for boys and girls basketball teams at all levels were announced shortly thereafter.
Understandably, the basketball events this week are all scrimmages organized in order to continue practicing skills and developing team chemistry. On Tuesday, November 22, the girls freshman, JV, and varsity basketball teams will all play scrimmages against Paul VI Catholic High School, a home matchup for Robinson. The boys teams will play scrimmages against Osbourn High School, also to occur at Robinson.
Next week, Robinson basketball takes center stage once again. On Wednesday, Nov. 29, all boys and girls basketball teams will see their first real game action. All teams will play against Woodson High School. The boys basketball teams will play at Woodson, and girls basketball will play at Robinson. Both (boys and girls) freshman basketball games will begin at 4:30 PM, with both JV games set to start at 5:45 PM and both varsity games to commence at 7:30 PM.
